The DGS-1008P Gigabit PoE Desktop Switch is an economical solution for SMEs and small offices. Thanks to PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology, users can connect devices such as wireless access points, network cameras, or IP phones directly using standard network cables. The DGS-1008P features Gigabit ports offering maximum speed, and integrates D-Link's Green Ethernet technology to save energy when the switch is not in use. Its fanless design makes it completely silent, making it ideal for offices, libraries, or meeting rooms.

PoE (Power over Ethernet) Plug and Play

The first four ports of the DGS-1008P support the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. Each of these four ports can supply up to 15.4 W, which is ideal for locations far from electrical outlets or when minimizing extra power supplies. The switch automatically detects the power needed by a connected PoE device, so no configuration is required. A safety mechanism will cut power if a PoE overload occurs, protecting both the switch and the connected device.

Cable Diagnostics Function

Each time the DGS-1008P is powered on, it runs a micro-diagnostic routine to check the integrity of connected Ethernet cables. If a fault is detected, the switch will indicate it via the front panel LED indicators, making troubleshooting easier.

QoS (Quality of Service)

Despite being an unmanaged Plug and Play switch, the DGS-1008P can classify network traffic by evaluating 802.1p and DSCP fields in Ethernet frames and IP packets, redirecting them based on priority. This allows seamless integration of data, voice, and video traffic without delays or quality loss.

Energy Saving Technology

The DGS-1008P is part of D-Link Green technology, offering energy savings, lower power consumption, and longer product life without sacrificing performance. It implements Green Ethernet technology by detecting cable lengths and adjusting power, as well as putting ports into standby mode when no traffic is detected. These reductions in power consumption allowed the elimination of fans, making it completely silent.
