Intel has tested and confirmed the Liquid Freezer III with the i9-13900K/KF, i9-14900K/KF, and i9-13900KS processors in the Enthusiast and Desktop category. In these tests, Intel considered both the mounting with contact frame and the cooler's performance.
Future-proof compatibility
The Liquid Freezer III is compatible with multiple Intel and AMD sockets. Intel will release the new Arrow Lake processors with the LGA1851 socket in the future. We guarantee full compatibility: all Liquid Freezer III units can be used without limitation with the new Intel LGA1851 socket.
Contact frame for Intel LGA1700 and LGA1851
The Intel Independent Loading Mechanism (ILM) deforms the CPU by pressing it against the socket at two points with over 40 kg. This creates pressure on the PCB, the die, and the solder layer between the die and the IHS. With high thermal load, this can lead to long-term issues. The ARCTIC mounting frame does not deform the CPU, reduces mechanical load, is fast and easy to install, and allows the cooler to be screwed to the CPU backplate. This minimizes mechanical stress on the motherboard and CPU, maintains constant cooling performance, and makes installation simple.
Silent and powerful VRM fan
Motherboard voltage converters often work at maximum temperature with high-power CPUs. To compensate for the lack of airflow from a tower cooler, the Liquid Freezer III includes a revised VRM fan. The 60 mm PWM fan allows for nearly silent cooling of the socket area when VRM cooling is insufficient, in cases with poor airflow, or in overclocking scenarios. This allows for higher loads and a longer lifespan of the voltage converters.
Integrated cable management
The fan cables are hidden inside the mesh. With the Liquid Freezer III, only the pump connectors need to be connected to the motherboard, without the need for additional wiring or splitter cables, which simplifies installation and improves aesthetics.
Full control or simple control
Two connection cables, two control options:
Independent regulation: With the three-connection splitter cable, the pump, VRM fan, and radiator fans can be controlled separately. Thus, for example, the VRM fan speed can be regulated independently of the CPU and adjusted according to the voltage converter temperature via PWM.
All-in-one: As in the Liquid Freezer II, the entire unit can be controlled via a single connection, where the radiator fan speed is the output signal. The pump, VRM, and radiator fans are easily controlled with a single PWM configuration.
Native offset mounting for AMD
For several generations, AMD has used a multi-chiplet design in its Ryzen desktop processors. Unlike Intel CPUs, the hotspot of these processors is not located in the center under the IHS, but slightly offset. The mounting solution for AMD has a 5 mm offset for optimal heat dissipation.
Improved radiator design
The cooling surface of the 38 mm thick radiator has been expanded by 23 % by increasing the number of fins. This not only improves thermal dissipation but also increases the liquid volume. Consequently, heat accumulation is slowed down, and power and temperature spikes can be managed more effectively for longer.
High static pressure
ARCTIC relies on the already recognized P-fans, awarded for their excellent performance. The P-series is especially suitable for use on coolers and radiators with high fin density. Thanks to their high static pressure, they achieve results far superior to fans designed only for air circulation.
Limited compatibility with some motherboards
Some motherboards are incompatible with the Liquid Freezer III due to oversized SSD heatsinks in the M.2_1 slot. ARCTIC provides a suitable M.2 heatsink free of charge for the affected boards.
Addressable LEDs for all needs
ARCTIC uses standard 3-pin cables instead of proprietary connectors. This not only ensures compatibility with most motherboard, case, controller, and accessory lighting systems but also allows for software control with the most common programs.
